Calling Cards - is an application model, when the Telephony Service Provider provides the ability to its customers to place long-distance calls through its network, while access to his network is granted using the Point of Presence.
Although you can completely compose Calling Cards solution in the Call handling GUI by yourself, we ship the system with Calling Cards meta-application. This is a single application in the Call Handling GUI, that performs all the IVR and routing logic. For some customers this might be enough to start the business, for others this might be a good example of what the system is capable to do without significant configuration effort.
Our calling cards application has several useful configurable extensions:
User places a call to the Point of Presence of Provider1 (implemented using Streamco Smartswitch), that is attached to the PSTN. Smartswitch answers the call, authenticates the user either by its caller ID or by pin that user enters. Then Smartswitch plays balance that is left on customer's account (optionally) and prompts to enter destination (optionally). After that is done, Smartswitch plays the amount of time user is permitted to talk on the up-coming call (optional) and places call to entered destination using hunting capabilities just as it performs Wholesale Switching. Thus, it can use LCR hunting to make call as cheap as possible.
