The history of Streamco began in 2007 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
After gaining practical experience with various telephony platforms, the company's founder saw opportunities to build a system that would be more flexible, efficient, and cost-effective. What started as an engineering experiment gradually evolved into a fully independent telecommunications platform built from the ground up.
The first prototype appeared quickly and was offered free of charge through several telephony communities and forums. This is how the first users and early feedback were obtained.
The years following 2008 became a period of active product refinement for Smartswitch.
New ideas were constantly implemented, tested, redesigned, and improved. Like many engineering-driven projects, the product evolved through practical experience and real-world usage. Each iteration helped shape a more reliable and scalable architecture.
During this period, Smartswitch began gaining commercial users and transitioned from a free experimental system into a professional product. Streamco was officially registered as a business and gradually developed into a small technology-focused family company.
Starting from 2013, Smartswitch entered a new stage focused on stability and architectural maturity.
The core architecture of the platform was finalized, and years of operating under production workloads provided invaluable experience in building reliable high-load systems. Over time, it became clear that careful system design and long-term thinking are more important than rapid feature delivery.
As the platform matured, implementation quality improved significantly. New functionality could be introduced predictably and without constant redesigns.
The primary goal became simple: build a system that "just works". A platform where users rarely need technical support because the system remains stable, understandable, and dependable in everyday operation.
In 2022, the war in Ukraine created significant uncertainty for both daily operations and long-term business planning.
To ensure continuity for existing customers and maintain service reliability, the decision was made to relocate operations to Canada. What initially began as a temporary solution gradually became a long-term direction for the company.
During this period, most efforts were focused on operational stability, infrastructure resilience, and establishing a permanent legal presence in Canada. Product development continued at a slower pace, with priority placed on reliability and minimizing maintenance requirements.
In 2026, Streamco Inc. was officially registered in Canada, giving the company a dual presence in both Ukraine and Canada.
Today, the company's primary operational resources are located in Canada, while a smaller administrative presence remains in Ukraine to support local accounting and regional operations.
Years of continuous refinement and stabilization have resulted in a platform that requires minimal maintenance under normal operating conditions. This level of reliability has helped attract long-term customers who value stability and predictability.
For many years, Streamco operated without an active sales department. All new customers came through recommendations from existing clients - a result we consider one of the strongest indicators of the platform's engineering quality and long-term reliability.
